Walt Addison Linscott, Esq., General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
Walt Addison Linscott, Esq., is General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, and is a member of the company’s senior leadership team. In this role, he leads the company’s worldwide legal organization.
Prior to joining Carestream Health, Mr. Linscott was the founder and managing partner of Thompson Hine LLP’s office based in Atlanta, GA. He also served as chair of the international law firm’s Life Sciences Practice Group. In these roles, he developed and managed global teams of lawyers and counseled in all aspects of Life Science company business for companies in the start-up, venture capital and public markets. His experience includes counseling clients on business terms of transactions and legal strategy for mergers & acquisitions; leading a national team of lawyers in defense of healthcare companies involved in litigation; and developing solutions for healthcare companies on matters of regulatory risk, corporate governance and reporting obligations under the securities laws of U.S. and foreign jurisdictions.
Mr. Linscott previously served as Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Inc., where he led the law, government affairs and public relations departments, and was a member of the company's Management Committee. During his tenure at Solvay, he managed successful resolution of regulatory compliance issues before U.S. and foreign regulatory agencies, developed government and public relations strategies for handling significant industry issues, and managed the intellectual property protection of company products. Additionally, Linscott was a partner focused on regulation and trade matters at Thompson Hine LLP for more than a decade preceding his role at Solvay.
Before his legal career, Mr. Linscott served as a Captain with the United States Marine Corps, where he received the Navy Achievement Medal for professional achievement in the conduct of special security operations.
Mr. Linscott holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Dayton School of Law and a BA from Syracuse University
